It's lovely to meet you.

My name is Emily Alff, and I’m a photojournalist and producer based in Washington, DC.

I started my career in local news, then moved to the nation’s capital. After covering several textbook-worthy historical events with CBS Mornings, I now work for a media production company where I take great pride in sharing “good” news. I also independently document the political and civil protest movements of DC as a freelance photographer. To grow my skills as a photojournalist, I participated in the Missouri Photo Workshop and Mountain Workshop in 2025, and I'll be attending the University of Missouri this fall for my masters in journalism.

To date, I’ve produced shoots beneath waterfalls, across dividers in state prisons, and over Zoom meetings -- and taken photographs everywhere, from the front lines of protests to high-society events. No matter the location, I highlight everyone’s humanity: I’m here to share your story.

Working in a team is my happy place, but when it’s time to take a break, you’ll find me either curled up with my kitty, scouring thrift stores for my next book, or taking a walk in my neighborhood -- my camera always in tow.

You can see my availability in the calendar embedded below, and you can learn more about my professional experiences through my resume.

I love to chat. Feel free to contact me at emilyalff@gmail.com or via phone at 240-621-0457.
